In no particular order here are some updates of the 2002 Turbo's we have been working on over the past few weeks. We started to reassemble one of our 2002 engines that we removed to paint the engine bay.

Here is the freshly painted bay with the new OEM fire wall cover.

Some more misc parts out of the paint booth.

Started to polish the original sunroof rails and guide bars.

The next step will be to do the headliner and sunroof crank, clean up the OEM wiring and get the booster, brake lines and all brackets back in the bay before we install our engine.

The silver 2002 is 95% complete, we have finished the full carpet kit install, repaired our dash and interior trim, and new seals all around.

We removed the old 3 piece bumper which had a dented corner and replaced it with brand new BMW parts.

This was how we had to hold the carpet in place while we set the glue to dry.

This car is absolutely gorgeous. Runs and drives amazing, so much power!!

Everything working well and temperatures good!

I will post more detailed pictures of the interior and upload some videos of it starting, running, and driving shortly.

Sorry about the crappy iPhone pictures, when you get into work mode its hard to remember to take pics of all the little details, there are hundreds of things we have done that no one will ever see until they actually look closely at the car.

Thanks for looking!

That's amazing. I see you posted only 2 cars. What about the other 3? Are they fully restored or they are going to be restored in the future?

P.S. You should register your Turbos at http://www.bmwmregistry.com/models.php?id=15

We thought about registering them, but we would look like hoarders haha.

As for the other 3, we haven't fully decided if we are going to fully restore each, or give someone the opportunity to do it themselves.

Hey Chad, the local 2002 group is going for a drive this weekend. Why not bring one of these turbos out, and show us the real thing.

Shoot, I didn't see this message until now, sorry we missed you guys. Here are some HD shots of the Silver 2002 we just finished and are currently making a short film to document what we have done.

I will have more updates on our 2002 Turbo Targa street car which we have decided to completely redo with new Tilton pedal set, custom intake and exhaust manifold, bigger turbo, electric water pump, custom front mount intercooler and rad, new wiring and complete paint job.

Here is a little update on our Targa car, we have removed the complete brake assembly, mechanical fuel injection pump, turbo set up, intake manifold, rad and intercooler, and all the accessories we are not going to use anymore. The cage has been cut out and original interior will been put back in.

We will be using a Vipec i44 ECU with a coil on plug set up, converting to electronic fuel injection.

Update:

We have been slowly progressing on our Targa 2002 Turbo street car build and collecting a few go fast goodies

Since this is now going to be a street car we want low end torque and quick response out of the turbo, so we decided to go with a Garret GTX2867R. Along with ID1000cc injectors and custom intake and exhaust manifolds we should be able to produce 350 to 400hp.

The chassis is now completely stripped of all its interior and engine bay brackets to clean it up.

We have mocked up the Tilton pedals we are going to use and marked out the sections we need to remove for clearance. We will be retaining the factory cluster and interior but redoing the chassis and engine wiring completely.

We will be starting the fabrication over the next 2 weeks and will have updates soon!
