No oil is lifetime!!!!

For the e36 I personally would use 5w30/ 5w40 in the winter. And 10w30 or 5w40 in the summer. For very spirited drivers 15w50 all synthetic.

I change my diff and tranny fluid every spring. No harm in it. Im not a believer of long term use of fluids. I change the oil much more often also.

isnt only the smg's lifetime? as well as all automatics? i dont think the manual cars are lifetime.. and no lifetime is a load of crap, might be ok for the average joe, but IMO oils/fluid break down and why would you want a fluid in the tranny that isnt all it could be?
