Question P problem after head gasket replacement, engine malfunction

My 05 BMW 530i blew a head gasket I took it into a standard garage that doesn't specialize in BMW may be my mistake but they replaced a head gasket started the car. And it blew out all the excess water Etc. They had replaced the rad fluid and then an oil change and filter fluid and cleaned everything up. Initially after pet bloom all the junk out of the exhaust it ran perfectly smooth and good. However then engine malfunction light came on and the 5th and 6th cylinder started missing less under load the malfunction disappears if you reset but comes back again shortly afterwards.

The shop is saying I need to take it to a BMW shop and get the electronics flashed and that will probably cost me about $200 like this. They're convinced it's an electronic issue as a goes away when you clear the codes of course cannot Flash the the thing itself you paragraph what would your next step be what are your thoughts that's what's wrong tia

Take it to one of the shops listed under the Sponsors section of this website.

Your shop sounds like they have no idea what they're doing. Have someone knowledgeable and qualified diagnose it...

Edit: I see you're in BC. Google a BMW independent garage in your area.

Yea, go to a recommended BMW shop in your area.
