That's awesome man, wish I could be there to cheer you on. What's your competition looking like?

Looks like your the only '02 so far
Yup! Only '02! Generally speaking, the turnout for anything BMW at this event isn't the strongest. There actually is one other '02 in the event from Quebec, but it runs in the older and slower vintage field.
As for compeitition, anything over 1.40 laptime is in my class... so probably majority of all of the NAed Porsche 924/944s... surprisingly some of the E30 M3s also turn times in that range (I know, don't ask ) and yes, the newer jdm machinery too. I suspect since the field is so busy, cars will be tripping over each other anyways, and it will be more of a survival strategy needed instead of outright speed.
Well, the car ran well over the weekend! Just a small oil leak to attend to, and window clips that I missed to satisfy the tech guys, and the car is good to rock n roll again soon.
It is clear that I had a major lack of HP compared to literally everyone else... so much so that I actually thought many times on the first race on the Friday 'what am I doing here, this is retarded' but I just pushed on, and became a bit more daring during the following races. It also became very clear that just about everyone else just drove with their right foot, which disappointed me... but such is life I guess. Pipe dream for me to move up to more pro-like racing environment where skill level is more of a requirement than how much HP you can throw at your car
Here are video recaps of the races. As the weekend went on, the beginning of my races got more and more aggressive. So much so that the Race Director came to find me on Sunday to tell me he had complaints from other drivers about me Well... I thought it was hilarious... Because realistically, almost all the cars around me I'd diced with were eons faster than I was, and driven properly, they'd be doing circles around me. So yeah... enough said
As much as it fits me, and also how much of a hoarder I am... it kind of clashes with what I want right now, and it just makes sense to trim down on the car collection. I dislike to part with it after so long, as I value history in something... but such is life.
So... it's still here. Hasn't sold yet, too many tire kickers in this world! At least, it was a good excuse to bring it back out again once more before the weather gets nasty... Last track day of the year, and it was a fun one! Here's a short clip of one of the sessions:
