21? vs 22? wheels & tires.

I?m looking for a summer set up for the x5
Gonna keep the 469m?s with winters as dedicated winters.

I settled on a set of rims. Regardless of size I?m going to go with
10.5? front
12? rear

Would like to hear some suggestions from some guys who drive locally
21? vs 22? rims. Have you damaged any rims? Or tire issues?

I see lots of guys running 22?s with no issues. But running a 355/25 in the rear
Seems pretty extreme for our roads.

But the deterrent to 21?s was the cost of tires and availability.

I?ll be coming from runflat winters so comfort from what I understand
won?t be lost. (First vehicle with runflats)

I?ve never dealt with rims larger than 18s so just trying to inform myself before I
make a decision.

Thanks.

From my experience it would be best to get in touch with the wheel company that you were interested in going with. They would be best in terms of assisting with the right sizes/offsets and proper tire sizes for front and back, so your ECU does not interfere with traction control.

In terms of 21' and 22's. It should not be a problem if the wheels are from a good brand and are forged, not cheap cast (some cast wheels are good). I see a lot of people run 21's for winters and 22's for summers on X5's.

I have been in touch with a few places. Locally and in the states. I had my eyes on a set of ADV10s but they are just out of my budget.
I found Premier Tires in Woodbridge carries Vossen. Had got a quote for a set of
Vfs1 also from a vendor on another Bmw site in the states. Who both suggested the same set up
22x10.5 +38. 295 30 22
22x12 +25. 335 25 22
Is a pretty standard size. Ive found a few f15s with the same set ups. I guess I could pursue trying to get ahold of a member personally.

I attached a pic of where I was headed. Same truck as mine white f15 m sport.

I run 22's on my truck and I have a set of 20's OEM. In Winter I use my 18's that came with my truck. Debating on getting rid of one of my sets 22's or 20's as I dont need both lying around if not using them.

My 22's are sizes
285 30 22
335 25 22
2011 E70

Id stay away from 21's , expensive for rubbers, but if money isnt a problem why not.
I ran 21's on my old 7 series, looked nice but pain in the wallet when I had to replace them.
