Well i was refering to when your on the highway going fast. I personally will never buy a car i dont feel safe in while driving fast

1.8T Audi 2.8 V6 maintenance at the 200k mark is retarded expensive and timing belt's are $$$ to replace along with the slew of ignition sensors that need to be replaced then. My bro wished he got the 1.8T after he got the bill from the 2nd maintenace interval. Front end needs to be replaced every other year as well in all A4 quattro's (it's all aluminum), not that hard or $$ but annoying.
It still is an awsome car though even after 260k of abuse.

whatever you do, before you buy the car please take it to a mechanic for a full inspection and ask them to be brutally honest with what is close to failing or is going to need replacing.

Don't forget that anything older than a 96 is a 10 yr old car. You're buying into maitenance. If you can do a lot of the work yourself its not near as bad. I forced myself to learn how to fix stuff cause I couldn't afford to keep paying my main mechanic his expensive rate. He did great work and I never had problems with him, but it gets pricey when you're constantly having to replace wear items. I've been replacing bushings, shock mounts, suspension pieces, ignition coils, aux fan, clutch, transmission (syncro went) etc. If you don't have any mechanical aptitude you might want to consider. If you have deep pockets, no worries.

12k can go a long way. Be patient in your search, and an ideal car will come up for you.

The 318IS is fun and peppy for a 4....when I stated in my previous post that it lagged.....It's not cause it runs high 17's on the quarter...now with my bigger tires and rims I'll probably be pushing low 18's....what ever I don't care...

The point was that when it comes time to pass a car doing 90km in a 100km zone on a two way highway...it takes a while to get up and go.....That's the only thing that ticks me off in reality with the 318is......Other then that no complaints at all Plus cheap insurence....so I'f I were you I'd get a Vette........Chevette

ACtually what about Poor Old SSAAB??

You could pick up like a 2000-2001 Saab 9-3 Turbo.. they aren't half-bad cars.
