found a BMW I'm looking at buying

I've been searching for the perfect 8 series for about a year now and I think I've found it... here is the info on the car
------------
1991 BMW 850i, Alpine white, two tone grey leather interior. 6 speed
manual transmission, V12 5.0 liter engine, 98k miles. Original Sticker
price was $90,000.

Are you familiar with the 8 series and features? If so, it has all
options available on US cars (ROW cars had the passenger load adjustable
headlight height switch, headlight washers and rear electronic solar
shade):

If not, here's the feature list:

-Air Bag Restraint
-Complete climate control system: AC, dual climate zone (driver &
passenger settings), auto climate control (walk away from parked car,
will reticulate warm or cold air to keep cabin temp to setting),
-Alarm System with dead-bolt doors/trunk/hatch/gas door/glovebox (alarm
works in 2 stages. 1) Doors locked, alarm armed or 2), alarm armed,
everything dead bolted and can not physically be opened unless master
key is put into door lock and disabled), double latch hood
-Power door locks (remote option was not offered on US cars since it's
infrared based and wasn't approved by DOT at the time. The wiring and
everything is there, including instructions in the owners manual, you
just need to get the remote from the dealer)
-BBS Aluminum/Alloy Wheels
-Premium sound AM/FM Stereo/Tape with 6 disc changer and Weather Band &
antennae integrated into glass (no antennae mast)
-Anti-Lock Brakes with selectable traction control
-Built in cell phone with hands free operation and radio mute &
removable antennae
-Cruise Control
-Advanced lighting system: Projection Driving and Fog Lights (fog lights
remain on with high beams) in flip up headlights (independent motors).
Flash To Pass lights in lower front bumper
-Intermittent Wipers w/speed control (they stop when the car stops)
-2 way Heated Leather Seats with full power adjust (driver & passenger)
with lumbar and integrated headrest (these seats were first designed for
and sold to BMW for the 8 series. The manufacturing company went on to
sell them to Bentley and Mercedes Benz. They're easily recognized by
the integrated seatbelt and one arm headrest), head rest height and seat
belt shoulder height electronically & automatically adjusted with seat
height, 3 memory settings on drivers seat including steering wheel
position
-Leather Steering Wheel & gearshift knob/boot. Steering wheel is
electronically adjustable forward/back & tilt
-Onboard Computer with steering column control and multiple features:
gas, mileage, MPG, MPH, MPH limit reminder, clock, calendar, timer,
service warning, oil warning, etc, etc
-Power Brakes
-Power Mirrors (passenger drops to view curb when put in reverse)
-Variable assist Power Steering -Power Windows & sunroof. Both front &
rear windows down with no support pillar (that's the reason for the
integrated seat belt system), Front windows automatically go up at 90MPH
to reduce wind noise. Windows and sunroof can be opened/closed with key
in outside door lock. One touch operation (up/down/open/close) on
windows and sunroof
-Rear Window Defroster
-Factory Tinted Glass
-Toll change dispenser in drivers door
-Matching front/rear mats with locking fasteners
-Double glove box (upper and lower) with removable flashlight
-Full size spare, jack (jack mounts on side of car so you never have to
kneel down and get under it), tool kit in trunk lid.
-Adjustable suspension (sport and comfort suspension settings, changes
response rate of shocks as well as throttle response!)

Other things done:

-NEW Front BMW upper, ZEEMAX lower bumper (bill is over $10k for this
work alone, Work done by BMW authorized body shop with factory paint)
-Zeemax side skirts (retains stock jack holes)
-Zeemax rear apron
-AC Schnitzer rear spoiler
-Remus exhaust system (4 SS square tip pipes out the back)
-UUC aluminum adj. pedals
-Eagle F1 245/50/16 tires on all 4 corners (Pirelli on spare). Tires
are 1 month old
-Redline full synthetic fluids
-New filters (air, oil, fuel)
-New PA state inspection & emissions (done 2/8/03) -New clutch at 85k
miles, not showing any current wear at all
-ALL service was done at CVM BMW in Mechanicsburg, PA, and more
recently, Thompson BMW in Doylestown, PA. Email me for service
technician's name at CVM who will verify all service questions and
history (he said he's more than happy to talk to any potential buyers)
-New brakes (1/02)
-New batteries (both replaced January '02 and have 2 yr warranty...yes,
the car has 2 HUGE batteries due to all the electrical features it has)
-New Eagle F1 (GS-D3, new style) High performance 245/50YR-16 tires on
all 4 corners, only 1000 miles on them!!!
-2 recalls on car: Radiator cap (done 2/02), headlight adjustor knobs
(part is ordered, will be replaced by this weekend)
-fan blade had a chip in it, replaced 9/02 and fan clutch replaced as
service item at same time

Specs:
Length: 188.2 in.
Width: 73 in.
Height: 52.8 in.
Weight: 4123 lbs.
Wheel Base: 105.7 in.
Front Head Room: 37.4 in.
Luggage Capacity: 10.6 cu. ft.
Maximum Seating: 4
Horsepower: 296 hp (measured at rearwheel...about another 25 after
exhaust system) Max Horsepower: 5200 rpm
Torque: 332 ft-lbs.
Max Torque: 4100 rpm
Drive Type: RWD
Turning Circle: 37.7 ft.
Fuel Tank Capacity: 23.8 gal.

As you can see the car is fully loaded and in excellent condition.
There are only 3 things with the car which are not perfect:
1). Due to the light color (almost white) of the drivers seat, there is
some discoloration in the leather. It's not cracked or faded or torn or
permanently damaged in any way, it's just the seats are a very light
grey and the wrinkle lines are a little obvious in some places (slighlty
darker where the light die has started to wear thin). The rear seats &
passenger seat look like they just came out of the showroom. Picture is
provided so you can see how minor this is.

2). On Board Computer has some blown pixels in the display. It still
operates perfectly, but the display is sometimes difficult to read.
This is being replaced under warranty and will be done this coming
weekend (supposed to be done last weekend, but wrong part was ordered)
3) Sunroof is locked in the closed position. Either the wheel broke a
tooth and jammed or the track broke one and jammed the wheel (motor
tries to move it, but the track is blocked). I have the part numbers,
have not had time to take it to the dealer and get them replaced (not
much use for a sunroof during winter). Mechanic thinks only one is bad,
but suggests replacing both while he's there as a precaution. $120 each
side for tracks, + $20 each side for new gear wheel. Sunroof is in the
closed position, so it does not leak at all, when you press the switch
you can hear the motor turning, the wheel just isn't making contact with
the track.

I hate to sell her, but my insurance is refusing to renew my policy on
this car (recent speeding ticket on my bike...167 in a 55), will write a
new policy only on a 4-door/non-sports car. I'm the second owner,
previous owner was an older (60 at time of purchase) lawyer from central
PA that commuted 20 minutes each day, a divorce forced the sale at the
time.

the motor in this car has done pretty well so far possibly because of the was it has been looked after... the guy is asking $25K US, but I don't plan on spending more than 22

Good price for the car.

The manual tranny is worth something as well, as most of the 840 / 850's came with an automatic; finding a stick version is fairly rare. (Except for the 850 CSi, which is even more rare to find).

The 5.0L V12s are a pain in the ass to keep running right, but are a very strong motor when well maintained. Expect to spend at least $1000 - $1500 per year keeping it in solid condition.

Nice car though, if I had the spare $$$, it's a car I'd love to have around the garage as well....
