That's it? you're not going to give us a full review of how it went and how much better you like the e46?

Nice! I was there with my wife's BRZ. Man, I thought it was slow in the straights compared to BMWs, the Porkers gave a whole new perspective. I loved the final session where they all left or broke down and I had the track practically to myself for over 2 hrs. I have my first endurance race coming up so I decided to see how I would fare. Cranked the tunes and started chewing up the laps. Wasn't as bad as I thought, I caught myself losing concentration a few times but overall I wasn't nearly as pooped as I thought I would be. One of the laps from the 2 hours:

BigD - that's hilarious - I've never heard of anyone blasting choons on track I'll have to try it when my instructor isn't in with me.

Man that was the fastest run group I've ever been in. Even Suzanne (blue M3 passing you on the back straight) said the pace was nuts.

Trevor - so far I got about 5 seconds a lap quicker than my best E30 times. And this on street tires and such a heavy car! It really loves to understeer if you come into turns 3, 5, 9 or 10 too hot. Scrub scrub scrub. But nothing a spot of -ve camber and 265's up front won't fix.

Putting the power down through 1, 2, 4 and 8 is just heaven - and is the biggest difference over the feel of the E30. I never had the confidence to not brake going into 4. But now just a quick lift, and maybe a brush to bring it in, then powaaaa all the way down to the apex - with so little steering input!

Haha, yeah, although you gotta crank it pretty loud to hear over the open window at speed. I think I got a few WTF looks from the marshalls at turn 10. Headphones would be better but then you won't hear the car much.

And yeah, the only car I ever lifted for was the red E30 racecar. Everyone else passed me like traffic going by a broken down car on the 401 with my foot denting the firewall, especially Gid's 991 GT3 and a friend's Katech Corvette.

FYI -- I've been running 255/40/18s square on 18x9 ET40 rims, with great improvement in balance vs. staggered, and no issues rubbing.

Just threw on 265/35/18s, and look that they will clear as well.

Yep sounds right. Funny that we had similar cars then and now.
