we had to put our dog down years ago, it was a tough choice, but after thinking about the dogs situation - bad teeth, liver problems, deaf & blind, we decided to put it down, my dog when younger was very alert, it was hard for me to sneak into a room without him knowing, but as time went by so did everything else, I managed to sneak up to my dog, stand over him(he was between my feet) and yell as loud as I can and he wouldn't even know I'm there, that was a sad day for me, it was then I realized he had so many problems.

I love my dog alot but if he was in that situation i would put him down, i would want him to do it for me if it was the other way around.

Unless he is in constant pain i wouldnt think about it.
Your grandfather has constant attention and can speak or write and you dont have to be a doctor to know if something would be not normal with ur grandfather............a dog cant talk or write .....cant tell you when he/she is in pain or what not. The animal shouldnt be suffering period.

I agree. it amazes me how hippies can't stop comparing humans to animals. Let's not kill a blind deaf rat with a broken back because it's "like an old man"
