E39 Cluster Going Crazy

Spent the day pulling the dash/cluster to install a new blower motor. Battery was unplugged for a long time (6-7 hrs). Upon startup after putting everything back together, my cluster is all lit up. EML light. Temp gage all the way over to red (def not overheating). Yellow tranny light and yellow brake light. Fuel gage all the way on empty with a full tank. No speedo or rpms. The first startup the engine was running really rough. Second startup it sounded normal again - but still the lights remain. Also, turn signals not working. Thoughts?

I don't know if this helps or not, but 2 years ago my cluster "died" or went "crazy" in extremely cold temperature outside. After 2 starts the cluster went back to normal and I didn't have the problem again.

May be it's because the cluster is cold! Did you put it somewhere cold when you took it out? I think in my case it was probably the ECU that's cold...I don't know what I am talking about honestly. I am just saying give it some time and see if it comes back to normal.

Good luck and let's know how it' going!
