2001 Z3 Sub replacement
Hi All,
hope someone can help me here. Finally my HK sub gave up on me.. I have a 2001 Z3 3.0. Lots of discussions on replacing the stock with Kicker CVT65.. but seems to be hard to get my hands on one of them. Any other option for a direct replacement without upgrading the amp or any other component?
thank you

Pyle makes a good 6.5", it is 4ohm though, but if you wire it in parallel you get 2ohm. Used it myself.

Thank you.. Ordered them in Amazon. They are dual voice coil 4 ohm speakers... So assuming it's just plug and play....

No so plug and play....remember you can only use one cable and it must be then used in parallel on the dual coil 4ohm sub to created a 2ohm back to the amp.

I have the Kicker 6.5". Does the Pyle require modifying the box and sub also? That step took far longer than wiring or box removal, you might want to keep that in mind and have the right tools on hand if it's necessary.

I had to shave (file) off a bit of a edge off the Pyle, but not much to make it flush with the speaker housing. Other than that...it fit well.
