Same size tires

I have a 2000 540i 6 speed and i currently have 255 40zR18s on the front and 275 35 R18 on the back. I am looking to make them all 255 40zR18s. Would that be ok? Any problems?

Well, are your rims all the same size? If so then no problem.

Your stock size is 235/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear. So it sounds like you have aftermarket rims. What width are they?
If you have aftermarket rims you might be able to stretch 255's onto the rears but they will look stretched compared to the front.

If your rims happen to be the same size, then for sure there's no problem. Compared to your current setup, you'll have a bit less grip in the back, but still plenty.
