I recently installed this in my 1997 E38 and I love it!

Was a very easy install. While the main purpose is to stream audio and take phone calls, I especially like the bonus features like triple turn signals and auto lock/unlock.

If you have an E38, E39, E46, E53 etc. it's a terrific add-on.
