Thanks for this sticky thread, wish I joined the forum earlier. I have a service appointment at Maranello tomorrow. Hopefully the experience will be a good one

I will find the regional forum you directed me to and inquire there
If all else fails, I have buddies with Porsches and I'm sure they can find me a real good M5 guy.
Cheers and thank you again

I got a recommendation for
Tom Hutchinson Automotive Inc

http://www.hutchinsonautomotive.ca/
I just gave them a call for a price quote to replace my valve cover gasket... waiting for their callback..

New to forum. Just came back from Bimmmersport. Had a persistent increased emissions warning and limp mode problems. Diagnostics showed throttle actuator bank 2 failure. Had them replace both actuators. They replaced them in a day and left me with the still good one. Not cheap but my M3 performance is more responsive now and the gas mileage has significantly improved. They were busy and did only what came up in the diagnostic check. No extra inspections.
I'm new to M3 ownership. Learned a lot from Charlie. For performance issues they seem to know what they're doing and do a good job. For small problems, warranty and recall issues I'd go to a dealership.

Update on the dealership recommendation. After over a year of M3 ownership a recent overpriced not so good dealership service has changed my opinion. Will now be going to dealerships just for no charge warranty and recall service. Will doing my own work and going to trusted aftermarket performance mechanics for everything else.

Hi All, looking for recommendation for a good, fair mechanic in the Brampton / Mississauga area. A lot of the recommendations in this thread are from few years back so just wanted to see if there is some new ones out there.
Thanks!

RMP did a rod bearing replacement for me. Rocco looked into a chronic door open warning issue that was getting annoying and an EDC error. He includes an engine mount change with the rod bearing replacement which makes good sense and shows his experience and commitment to good service.
He went the extra mile on the door open warning. Not being able to find the problem he didn't charge for the work and experimenting he did. He found a scavanged footwell module stopped the warnings and recommended that I get a used one and he would put it in and code it. I did that and when it didn't work he referred me to his code guy. He knows the BMW and commits himself to solving any problems and doesn't final charge you until he solves the problem. Good guy.
p.s. The EDC was just a connection fix. The door warning error wasn't a footwell module or code issue but an angel eye after market led light issue. I replaced the leds with halogens; problem solved.
RMP is at 12 Goodmark place, roughly Steeles and the 427. Rocco and Johnny do good factory spec work.

Thanks for the info, but I am looking for another shop with experience and reputability. Any other suggestions, anyone?
