help figure out this wire please!

1984 318i. I found a green and yellow wire that had snapped off of its connector. it goes along with a blue and green wire into something behind the battery into the firewall. the car has been running like crap for about a week and am desperately searching for an answer. hopefully this is it, and if not i will know what else was broken. cheers guys

I just pulled the wiring loom out of my 318i, it depends on the size of the wire. If it's a small gauge wire, then it goes to the Idle Control Module (ICM) -small green box beside the ECU above the glovebox. If its a larger gauge, it could be the O2 sensor, I can't really see the wire colour right now as its too dark (also depends on prod'n date as my 84 had a single white/black wire for 02 sensor IIRC.) I'll check for you tomorrow in the daylight.
