Mainframe computer programming work

Anyone out there dealing with MF computers at work ?

Currently off work looking for a contract or possibly FT.

Over 20+ years experience in the field.

Unusual way of looking for work but, hey, I thought I'd give it a go !

Check out jobs.gc.ca

There is usually some kind of IT job in government although the waiting and processing part can take months. Also check out job agencies. There are some (I'll use a Ottawa example) like actually I just found this for T.O.

http://www.veritaaq.ca/sections/home...hp?VTQLANG=eng

or

http://login.maplesoftconsulting.com...nities_nl.aspx

There are some jobs making 45$+/hr that can be had. Make sure you can get clearance sometimes because some are for NATO ect.

You get cops who are charged with murder and politicians who are self confessed to smoking crack who are still on the job being paid.

... and I've got a ton of experience and making $0 per week with nothing in site.

Its amazing some of the morons I worked with on my last position. People who are in a position of authority who, I can't believe, are in them !!! Its incredible, simply incredible !

I have no idea how the f*** one manager is in the position that he is in. Having been a manager myself, it boggles my mind how a bank would allow this. Why ? Is it because he's in at 730am ? Is it because he drives in from London on a daily basis ?

I find IT one of the hardest markets to step foot into. I'm having my convocation on the 23rd of this month for Electronics Engineering Tech but it seems like you need to know someone to get even an interview. Only 2 people I know that have graduated with Diploma's in Tech that have made it into serious jobs. One does Graphic Design (even though he graduated as a Computer Engineer) working for Siemens.

We hired a couple not too long ago where I work.

They were posted on the Federal Government job bank (jobs.gc.ca). Look through that site every 2-3 days, that's pretty much what I did before I got my job.
