Ya it's been a VERY long time, but it's the best I can do because money is tight (I only budget so much per year for entertainment which includes my car )
I am still...yes STILL waiting for my mofo of a manifold to come. Hoping it'll be here today sometime, as I want to use this weekend to start taking the head off the car. I think I'm going to put on a thicker head gasket...I thought about it long and hard, and although it will make my turbo project cost more than I had originally planned for, I think this preventative measure will save me more in the long run.....plus maybe I want to turn up the boost higher than 10
Anyway, will post some pics of the entire kit unassembled as soon as the manifold comes in so everyone can see what's going on and for those who might be curious what's involved in building a turbo kit.

FINALLY!!!! OMFG

The manifold looks awesome! Really well made, and from reading a few posts on bimmerforums from other members with the same one, it's a snap to go on the car too. It was definitely worth spending an extra $300 for a cast iron one because now I can have peace of mind it'll support the weight of the turbo. There was one hitch though which got me a bit upset, the place I ordered the manifold from is out of wastegate downpipes for 3 weeks! ACK! I also contacted someone who I know helped engineer this manifold, and same story. I guess the wastegate pipe kit is a hot seller
To make things worse SPA almost forces you to buy their pipe kit because they use a 30mm flange on the manifold rather than a 35/38mm one you would expect. Luckily it seems a VW Beetle exhaust flange fits, and even more surprising, a VW beetle J-pipe cut in half and swivled a bit almost makes an identical part to the original SPA one. HMMMMM i thought, so I purchased one to attempt to make my own in the meantime. What have I got to lose right?

Progress begins as soon as the rain stops....I dont have a garage to work in

ok ok ok, I managed to swipe my digital camera from my sister this evening so I'll take some pics (she's always got the camera cause of her porn business lol). Really should take some pics with the rims on....reason they're not on the car while I drive is cause the front bumper needs a bit of trimming so it doesn't rub against the wheels. Just been a bit lazy so that's been on the back burner hehe.

For now here's some more pics of the turbo and manifold. I picked up the hardware today to do the intercooler install so I might attempt to do that tomorrow or wednesday. Just depends on which day I need to help my buddy pick up his civic with it's new B16a install
(I am desiging the turbo for that at the same time too! )

I'm almost embarassed to show these pics. I'll bring a tri-pod tomorrow night so I can do some real shots without the flash. (I absolutely cringe at using flash )

Oh, the car's finished, however I probably won't be posting pics any time soon (no time right now) but you'll probably see her out on the roads until first snowfall.
I've pretty much stopped frequenting this forum since some of the the more recent members seem to have very different point of views than my own and have ruined my liking for the forum. I really wish I could express myself without all the hate that gets thrown in; Some people just need to learn to shut up and stay quiet if they haven't got anything positive to say. I may show up at some meets but that's about it (BUT NO RACING OMFG TSK! TSK!), sorry guys.

You can close this thread thanks!
