Short Shifter

I went to daytona today and bought one. He said that the one I bought fits on an E36 and E30. Is that true?

Its true and not true at the same time. If it was meant for E36 it will fit in the E30, however it rubs against something under the shifter and and it makes an odd noise. Someone sold me his short shifter meant for an E36 from his E30, and because he had problems he sold it to me. A short shifter meant for an E30 will fit on E36 though.

Hope that helped.

I got a short shift lever from motronixmotorsports and paid 160$ cash and is probably the best 160 I have spent. The shift they claim is a 65% reduction, and it is totally true. It also lowers the shifter about a half an inch.
A place that deals them is Mantis Racing in Oakville.
Ciao

the gears are so close together no that it is really hard to miss shift. In terms of performance, its prob the same, maybe quicker shifts

Dude go with the Motronix short shifter! My car came with it when I bought it and the throw is so short! I have been driving around with my stock wheels and I can chirp in 4th! With the 18's I couldn't since the tires were much wider and softer, but man I was impressed!

Has anyone tried the Motronix Motorsports short shifter for the E36? $160 CDN seems like a really good deal considering the UUC shifter is $195 US not to mention the extra shipping and duty us Canadians have to pay to buy one from them or Rogue. Please post some testimonials if possible. Thanks.
