M30 AFM into E30 with 272 and 19lbers

1989 325IX
rebuilt top end with schrick 272
port and polished head
noname chip
19lb ford injectors
M30 AFM (...080) - I know its not the 027 but its what i have.
new plugs, wires, battery, FPR, tbelt, water pump etc etc etc.

Installed the AFM with cone filter, no adjustment yet. no CAI yet.

What I want to know - from someone that has experience toying with these M30 AFMs is:
1. how many teeth did you adjust your spring tension? I think I've read a couple places that 3 notches is normal.

2. What were the results of each turn(explain idle, throttle response, etc.)?

3. Did you adjust the idle setscrew on the AFM? how did you do it(all the way down; 3 turns back; fine tune to raise/lower idle)?

4. Can I get away with the stock AFM and airbox just fine with the 19lbs, cam and chip? or will I be running rich? The ecu should compensate after a short time right?

In response to this I'd appreciate more experience than speculation.

Once installed it would run really rough and try to die out, idle would drop quickly to 500 and try to die. After I held it on and let it warm up, it seemed to be steady at 700, but acceleration was super slow.

I moved the spring cog one tooth looser and throttle response went up very well and it idled much smoother, but would stay at 1300rpm even after it warmed up. I'd like to know if there is some way I can monitor mixture, maybe through the 1 and 2 pins on the O2 sensor after its warm. Can I then adjust the idle screw on the AFM to bring it down?

let me know what you know
