Speedometer only in Km/h?

My speedometer only has Km/h readings on it. Has anyone purchased a vehicle with the same problem? I mean my car should not be a "Canadian BMW" it should be a North American one. I need a dial that reads both km/h and mph. Does anyone know if the dealer will change this without charge? Sounds pretty silly for a customer to get their car and have to pay to change the dial. What if I want to drive to the U.S.?

1 km = 0.6214 Miles. therefore

50km/h = 31mph
60km/h = 37mph
80km/h = 50mph
100km/h = 62mph
120km/h = 75mph
140km/h = 87mph
160km/h = 100mph

If that helps

My M3 only has KM on it and I like it that way. Keeps the speedo nice and clean.

Same here.

But no, dealer wont install US one free charge.
In canada a car has to have metric speedometer by law, MPH speedo is not required

I don't need the conversions. I already know those. I have family living in the US driving BMWs that came with both mph and km/h. Just wondering why Canada doesn't. (I know it's not required, but why are they assuming a person will never drive out of the country). I don't like assumptions.

When I ordered my 323 in 2000, I asked the salesperson can I custom order a speedo that has both km and mph, and he said "no", not even if I am willing to pay extra. what a shame

conversion

It would be nice if there was a button we could all press to change our dials to go Imperial. And then back to Metric. But as Stalker mentioned above, I like the clean look of having only 1 set of numbers. With the mph and kmh, it's quite busy. Have you seen the US spec speedometers??

I think it's BMW's way of telling the US that the imperial system sucks, and is out of date. Honestly, everyone should just use the metric system, very simple.

Seriously, how many people drive to the states all the time? If you do, you'll simply remember the conversions.
