I said "you dont need a dealer license"

OP can easily obtain a wholeseller license for a fraction of a cost of dealer license and still have his "dream" of buying one or two cars as a side job.

yes and I am correcting you - you need the licence.
I have both wholesale and retail licence and both have exactly the same requirements and only difference is that for retail you need to have proper location. wholesale buying and selling applies only to dealer to dealer vs. retail dealer to customer.

btw only way around is to have the salesperson licence and buy cars under the dealership, but selling them would still require dealer to sign the bill of sale.
