FS: 1992 Alpina B10 BiTurbo #440 of 507 170,500 kms

The time has come to part with this very rare car. I bought the BiTurbo from auction in Japan in 2011 and have spent thousands getting it back in shape. Back in the day this was the fastest saloon on the planet, quicker even than a Testarossa. As Paul Frère wrote in Road & Track, “For me this is the car... I think this is the best 4-door in the world.”

Mechanically the car has had a thorough overhaul with over $7000 in receipts and many more thousands in labour: replaced clutch (Alpina OEM), rebuilt both turbos (Cherry Turbos in St. Thomas), cap and wires, engine mounts, accumulator, a host of sensors, bushings, links, hoses, seals, gaskets and clamps

The body is solid with no rust. The front right fender was repainted by a previous owner, and the grille is pushed in and needs to be replaced. The paint I would give a 7/10. Needs two front tires after a trip to the track at Shannoville this past summer.

In the interior, the Recaro electric seats with Alpina cloth are in excellent condition front and rear. The dash has no cracks. No rips, tears or burns anywhere. The headliner is sagging and the glue on all four door panels has given way. The carpets are in good condition and the floor mats are new Alpina items – but designed to fit an E39, E34 mats no longer being available. The rubber seal on all four doors has shrunk and is in varying stages of pulling away.

All the electrics work – windows, locks, seats, mirrors as well as the cruise control. The air conditioning is not working and I haven't investigated why. The speakers tend to crackle and the volume doesn't go loud enough – possibly a moisture problem.

Any paperwork related to the car before 2011 is in Japanese so I can't tell you any history prior to my ownership.
