focal are very good, they are compareable (depending on series) to MB's. a lot of reputable shops recommend them for our cars. i priced out a component set (forgot exact ones) but they came out to be aroun 700 CND

Paul: Anything i can do to same some cash would be most helpful. It is going to be an expensive week for me

Furious: MB is better than focal?

M_Powered: Do you run a sub? How are the GTOs when it comes to reproducing bass?

I want to get some speakers which will produce a good size amount of bass, mid-low bass would be awesome. I'm planning on NOT putting a sub in the car so i want speakers which will give me atleast some bump. Sub might come next year when i wont care about the extra weight in the car

I decided to go with the JBL power series speakers and a Fosgate t4004 amp. The amp should rock those speakers but hopefully not blow them. Damn car is in for the whole day while they install that shit as well as some other crap!

I think the GTOs are different than the Power Series stuff. I was at the stereo shop today and did notice that they did infact have the "Power Series" as well as the "GTO" series. Now whether they're the same speaker but just with different branding or actually different speakers is beyond me.

I hope i do enjoy them! I'm tired of the crackling that these HKs are giving me!!!

Question

Are your door speakers black? If they are and the bezel surrounds aren't cracked I'd be interested in buying your dead door speakers and tweeters off of you.

Please let me know by private message.

I've heard the same.

I have some MBQ's sitting here since last year. Never got a chance to install them. My door tweaters are blown (HK) and I needed an an upgrade. So I got a deal on some MBQ's DUA series. I might not install them, cause all I really need are some tweaters

^^^ go ahead and install them! as far as rewiring, i would just tap into the factory harness, the physical install into the doors/kicks isn't hard. i did a write-up on door tweeter install: http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66256
