oil pressure light

I changed the oil and filter 20w-50 & Fram filter
I took the car to the carwash and sprayed and cleaned the engine


Now I am getting my oil pressure ( on dash) light come on when my car is at idle.. or when it drops below 950rpm.

I read in the owners manual that if the oil pressure light comes on when at idle then it is nothing to worry about

what are your thoughts on this guys??

It's not supposed to. 20w seems too high for this time of year and I would toss that Fram filter.

It will be changed again before it gets really cold.....
Fram filter lets me take it off easily without sticking a screwdriver through it

CT sells a cheap $6 filter socket which uses a 3/8 drive.

I think the oil is too thick. You can also have clogged oil pump strainer in the oil pan or a clogged oil pressure swich as well.

Have it checked out.

DONT USE FRAM FILTERS!!!!
In the Jeep world (where we have Oil pressure gauges), the Fram filters make the oil pressure run at half of what it should be!!!!
Anyone caught using FRAM filters is called an idiot and told not to ever buy them again.
THeir flow is not good AT ALL!

I have run frams for awhile, among various other things. I think I have the bmw recommended one in there now, I will change it before permanant storage though.

Anyway, when my oil light came on the pressure switch was leaking.


Oh Terry, I saw a Green cherokee last night on the 401.. looked like 22" rims, big flares, and 5.6 on the tailgate.. sounded mean. Know anything about it?
