98 323is heater control

hey my heater control went and its intermittent, it turns on the odd time but to get heat in my car i have to unplug it from behind. it has A/C and auto air flow. any tips where i can find one and will a heater control without auto air flow work or do i need the same one i have. the dealer wants 850 bucks

The problem with your climate control unit is a 0.47uF tantalum capacitor that is going bad on your climate control unit's circuit board. Very common problem.. and the capacitor is a 75 cent part that can be replaced on your climate control's circuit board. Of course BMW will NEVER tell you this in a million years and they will never admit that there is a major defect in this part.. and the reason for this is simple. Why would BMW fix your problem for a few bucks when they can give you an $850 repair bill?

I fixed mine for less than a buck and it works as new.

as well it makes a sqeak sound the whole time the car is running. but when i unplug it from the back it goes away.

me too me tooo, mines on whenever it feels like it, any DYI's for this anywhere???

i just took my heater control circuit board to a buddy and he re sodered on of the connections and bang its like new. check the circuit board for any burn marks.
