Hey guys, got my car back and my car is running beautifuly. It was the cats all along, the cause of the misfires. Doesn;t mean it applies to everyone, but on my way there, it was hell. I couldn;t accelerate properly. Then it would start shaking and everything. Anyways, got Magnaflows, and I don;t know if it's just me but I hear a nicer sound to my exhaust. You can hear the hi-flow cats. It's more of a deeper sound. No much, but it is noticeable.

glad everything worked out, now go get a cat-back exhaust system, you will notice a lot more sound & with a aftermarket resonator you'll reduce another 30+ pounds off the car, too bad you're in Montreal or you will be able to listen to exhaust system on my 540, it's very unique

Ya, I would've of loved to have seen your exhaust, but it's dangerous when I see stuff like that, cuz then I want it so badly....lol But it most sound nice. I haven;t heard a LIVE e39 with exhaust yet. Every BMW meet I go to, I'm the only guy there with a 5 series and mine isn;t moded yet. Anyways, if you EVER have any sound clips or vid's of your car, please let me know, I would be very interested or if you ever decided to come down for the odd reason, to montreal, let me know.

will do, I'll head over to Montreal every now and then, the thing that makes my exhaust unique is that it is made by Brullen, full cat-back with hi-flow cats, I was told that I was the only 540 they made this exhaust for, & since they went bankrupt no more will be produce, making it one of a kind, but I also got screwed over for the lifetime warranty deal

Sounds good, Your exhaust looks really nice from the pics I've seen. It;s very discreet, which is something I'm looking for. The Dinan seems to stick out too much. But then I heard that you need to have stock BMW cats in order to fully utilize the Dinan exhaust...I don;t know. I'd rather listen to your first but then again, the company is out...But that would be awesome if you can come down one week-end. I don;t know if you'll be attending the...hopefully...soon, Autumn BMWCC cruize. I should be there. But let me know...

hey guys , my body has the same problem on his 99 540, both his cats are gone but ive heard the after market ones only last like 2 or 3 month, how long do the magnoflows last and how much do they cost? and i also heard that when they mod these cars they remove cats and that gives more horse and replace it by pipes or something.....

well removing cats are illegal, and you will fail the emission test, I have aftermarket cats that I got installed 2 years ago, no problems yet, aftermarket cats cost anywhere between $100-150

There is a way to test the coils . With a tool called autologic it can give you the values of each cylinder and tell witch are not firing . Because if you plan on removing the coils be shure they are installed right or you will short them out or ZAP your self . Good luck
