This is an exclusive review for the Lexmark X73 All-in-One.
Lexmark is introducing a new all in one unit for both Windows and Macintosh users. The X73 can scan, print, copy, and fax your documents all within one unit. My first impression is that the Lexmark X73 is quite light for its size (14.99lbs).

Unpacking the unit and setting it up is quite simple, be sure to follow the getting started guide that comes with the printer for some very important information, such as unlocking the scanner bed before using the unit. The Lexmark comes with the following items:

• Lexmark X73 All-in-One
• Black Print Cartridge
• Color Print Cartridge
• X73 Getting Started Book
• US Driver and Software CD (Driver for Mac on website)
• ABBYY FineReader 4.0 OCR software for text reading
• Black Ice Impact ColorFax Lite Software
• MGI PhotoSuite 8.1 software
• Low Voltage Power Supply

You’ll have to supply your own USB cable to connect to your computer.
Paper Types support by Lexmark X73 include:
• Paper (inkjet, photo quality)
• Envelopes
• Labels
• Transparencies
• Hagaki
• Cardstock

Software installation of the Lexmark X73 driver was flawless on my computer system (G4 533Mhz w/128 RAM running MacOS 9.1) Testing the different functions of the printer was quite interesting. Printing in black is flawless and fast. Printing in color was also flawless. Scanning was excellent, crisp clear color images and excellent document scans. Coping was a little different, first you place the item you would like to copy on the scanner bed, the Lexmark then scans the image, and then prints out the copy. One thing to note is that the Lexmark must be powered up and connected to your computer for all these functions to operate. The Lexmark X73 also has an operator panel directly on the All-in-One unit. But like I said you do have to have your computer turned on and connected for the functions to work.
The Lexmark X73 is a perfect addition for the creative household or home office. Fast, effective and at a very reasonable price you can't go wrong with this unit.
