Correct Tire Size For 18's on E36?
Hey guys,
What is the correct tire size for 18's on an E36? Will 225/45/18 fit, or do they need to be lower profile, such as 225/40/18?
Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

225/40/18 is recommended....
from what i understand you can go a bit wider in the front and rear but not 45 series.

It's oversized, probably will rub.
235/35/18 or 245/35/18 is correct.

re tyre size
Well I have a set of 18" OEM rims on my 98 328 , Fronts 225/Zr 18 88y Rears 255/Zr 18 90y Michelin Pilots , no problems with rubbing before or after the install of T.C Klein's fine suspension that dropped the car a few degrees. Hope this helps in your quest.

guys, you're asking the WRONG questions.
JUSTIN, runs 255's in back, doesn't rub
MITCH runs 19 inch bbs's, and only touches in the rain
PROPR'ONE runs 235/40/18's all around, but since the offset isn't perfect, he rubs
235/40/18 is plenty big for e36, just get the correct offset for your car

re profile
Yeah sorry should have read 225/40/zr/18 88y fronts , 255/35/zr18/90y rears, the T.C Kleins suspension is a TCKR True Match S/A coil over system, info on this fine setup is available on his web site TC Klein Racing.com

I don't rub at all... Only if my wheel is turned ALL the way and it BARELY touches the plastic on the inside of the fender. I've even got air in my car (wheels off the ground) and when I came down it didn't rub! (I was actually surprised that I didn't rub!)

LOL You might have... my suspension is nice and stiff (but comfortable), it is actually stiffer than H&R Race springs.
Randy saw me get air and Jon was in my car too at the time at a cruise.

LOL, I know it's stiff, the car jitters on every bump.
I know what you mean about the ride though, my GC's are stiffer than H&R Race too and it's still really comfortable.
