late e36 oem alarm problems

sometimes when me or whoever is driving tried using the keless entry to lock the doors and set the alarm the car will just chirp and nothing will happen...but then the next dayit works pefrectly...it has its days.....anyone know why its happening? could it be a low battery on the remote? its the oem alarm system on a 1998 323is

E36s are known for their flicky wires. Check your hood/trunk/door sensors and make sure they work. Also it's a good iead to take a look at the alarm & make sure all harnesses and wires are attached. I've seen OE alarm units are going very cheap at ebay.

hey guys,

if I have an E36 with no alarm, is it easy to install the OEM alarm in my car? and I obviously want the remote keyless entry with it...
