can i recharge my OEM battery after 2 years?!?

my OEM battery died/emptied sometime 2 years ago. and has been ever since kickin around in the basement. now it's in the way and i was just wondering if the thing can be saved/recharged and put to use. or should i just get rid of it??

Hook it up to a charger...hopefully permanent damange hasn't set in yet.

trickle charge it.....then put it to the test in ur car let it sit over night and see if it starts in the morning but trickle charge it for a while

highly doubt it'll work... check the electrolyte levels in it. If the plates are not damaged, then you can have the old electrolyte emptied out, and new stuff poured in... it'll be good for a few years. If the plates have been exposed for a few years and are corroded, then the battery is no good.

since that battery might have dried out, do what justin said and refill it with some water
and if your charging it, do it with trickle charge (slow charge) and charge it somewhere it wont be around people or anything you want damaged, because i've seen batteries go kaboom with a slight spark

i think i'm just gonna get rid of it. not like i really need it anyways. i took it out of the car when i got a new one. just wanted to c if it could be saved. but i dont even have a charger so i'm not gonna bother buying one now either.

I'd just fill it with water (with a little salt mixed in) trickle charge it for a couple of hours, test it to see if it has 12 volt's. If it does then it's still good, flush it and get the electrolite changed.
If you had it sitting on a cement floor for 2 years don't bother plates are done & you'll risk it blowing up as mentioned before if you leave the cell caps on while charging.
