I own a 99 328I e46, and last year I replaced both control arms with ball joints, Since then I have put 40,000km on the car and now It appears as tho I the right ball joint has gone again. I though it was the tie rod because the play is in the left to right dircetion, but after doing both inner and outer tie rods i find that the play is still there, and it appears to be coming from the ball joint. Does anyone know what the typical life of these things is, and if it is possible to buy just the ball joint, I forked out $700 last time to do both ball joints, cuz they told me I have to do them with the control arms.

On e46 the balljoint comes only with the arm, we sell the arms, give me a call at the shop for a good price on a replacement arm
