6spd Manual 323is? Oxymoron or real?

I am looking at a 1998 323is 6 spd manual. From the pictures second owner provided the car looks very clean @ 150,000 clicks. I confirmed with the seller that it is 6spd manual but just want to make sure if such thing exists before heading down to Oakville to see the beast in person.

What would be the market value of this?

Yeah no production 6-speed in there, may be a euroM3 tranny but what the hell for? Market value would be the same as any clean 98 323, check going rates on trader.ca. Since the extra gear will do pretty much nothing for you bolted up to that engine, I wouldn't pay a premuim for it.

Maybe reverse is included in the gear count.

I really don't get this. I am curious but don't want to waste time if the owner don't know anything about his car
Quote:
The car is a 6 spd manual - it has the the 'M' trim package - ie. steering wheel and shifter have the 'M' insignia (factory), I am the second owner having bought it when it was 4 years old. I live in xxxxx and have the service log and majority of reciepts. In the last couple of years I have had the service 2 BMW package done, have replaced the climate control computer ($800 - apparently a common problem in these cars - O.K once replaced) and an exhaust recirculator ($1000). Tires are less than one year old (bought in august last year). I am selling because we need 4 doors - have a 2 year old who is getting too heavy to move in and out of a 2 door!!

Is this automatic or auto 6spd? Do you have more pictures? Where are you located? How many previous owners? Do you have repair/service history?

Well, let me go check. If I've been driving around in 5 gears while I have 6 forward gears this past month then I'll be happier then a pig in slop! Just cuz I have 3.38 gears though so an extra gear would be kinda nice.....

*2min later*
Nope, no 6 forward gears here. Only way to find out if the car you're interested in has it or not is to go check it out for yourself.
