the car is auto i would assume so there might be some loss from that, also there is that good old friend turbo lag which from what i remember (parents had the 850 T5 and V70 R) with the larger turbo there was a signifigant ammount of it. my gears are also setup for hwy so from a drag perspective i would expect it would proly be 50/50 on the hwy would be a bit more interesting, although the auto is a 4 speed and i have no idea what the gear ratio is on that also our cars are basicly identical in weight, yours is lighter by around 90-100lbs... we will see if i feel like it...

The T5 is a HWY monster. Turbo kicks in at about 2500RPM. It is a High pressure one, just not sure how much boost it makes. When in the SPort mode, the Volvo keeps the gears longer, and shifts up and down a lot more to keep you in the boost range. The T5 has more HP, and according to you is lighter, sounds like an advantage. Only one way to see I guess.
