M3 wiring expert

hi guys...

I am trying to find out if the 97 E36 M3 has CAN... if so does anyone know where I can tap into it and the wire colours??

CAN = controller area network

contians all the OBD2 info... aftermarket data logging systems can be tapped in to log data for various uses....

normally 2 wires... CANhi and CANlo

hope that clears it up for you

There is an OBD2 port under the drivers side dash. There is a small removable panel there. I have no clue which wires are what you're looking for, but that port is wired to the OBD2 ISO standard.
