mtech kits - what are my options?

Hey guys,

I'm trying to figure out the right way to go to mod my 1988 325ic with metal bumpers to plastic bumpers with m-tech front / rear / sides.

My understanding is that I have to do a plastic bumper conversion first and then add on the mtech front / rear / sides.

Is there another way? Is there a kit that provides both the bumpers and mtech conversion in one set up?

I'm trying to figure out what Eurostyle's kits consist of but I cannot find much detail on them.

If anyone has gone through this and could provide advice it would be appreciated, I don't want to buy a bunch of parts I don't need.

Thanks

The "kit" is bumper covers. The pretty part.

You need to buy the actual bumper core and shocks from a plastic bumpered car to mount the M-Technic II kit properly. (and legally)

Ah... ok... thanks Jordan.

So for clarity, Eurostyle's "kit" it includes the bumper covers?

unless you were to find an OEM MTech car or kit, like jordan said: you have to do a bumper swap.

nothing beats the fitment of OEM but it is $$$, with the replicas you will probably have to get a bodyshop to fit it to your car.

if you can get the plastic bumper covers aswell, Eurostyle has "addons" you can purchase however I am unaware of what they look like.

My understanding is that the amount of bodywork required for pretty much all of the MTECH II knockoff kits makes it equal (in regards to cost) to buying a used OE kit and having that installed.
