I wouldn't mind knowing this too....same problem here. I think its that there is either a broken cable, or some junk on the tracks that causes it to bind??

I thought i had the same problem with mine...but then as i was opening it, and gave it a bit of a push as i was holding the button, and it went the rest of the way. I noticed that the front plastic peice was interfering with the backwards sliding motion, and the motor wasnt powerful enough to overcome this interference.
my advice, if you havent already tried it, is to just push it until it starts going by itself. do this for a little while, then it should be able to go back without the push.

My sunroof moves fine, but convincing the motor to engage is a different story all together.

Electric sunroofs? Pop off the little plastic thing where the button is, there is a small servo motor in there, wind it back and put it back in.

Guys, i got the sunroof to open finally, this was done by loosening the nut with the spark plug socket (in tool kit) on the servo motor. With the special key, i manually open the roof. Then, used the power button to assist open fully. While repeatly open and close the roof, I spraying pene oil on the tracks.
