help my car won't start!

So I try to start my car today, and it just won't start... I can hear it semi-cranking but it just won't start up. Everything lights up, so all power works, and the engine makes kind of a noise, but it just won't go...

any advice?

thanks!

Mine did that yesterday as well. I have a 93 325is. It would just crank over but would not fire. I have never had a problem before. I finally cranked so long the battery went dead. I gave it a boost and it fired right up. It's working as good as it ever has today. I have no idea what happened but hopefully it does not happen again.

battery could be half-dead, or the battery cable/connections could be corroded and not making full contact. if the starter is dead, the car either won't crank at all or it'll make a bad grinding sound. sounds like lack of electrity since the car simply won't crank fast enough.

I have this problem when my car is not started for more than a day..... but my starter is also toasted, so i'm sure this has something to do with it!
