I have the synthetic ones, and they look and feel really good. Vinyl is easier to repair than leather for me, and with the height of the bolsters, you gotta either be uber careful or fix the bolster every two years. :p

I'm honestly thinking of applying a 'patch' over the parts that get wear in a way that I can change it when it wears, and remove it for show.

These seats have very high bolsters and are probably not top quality, so with everyday use the material on the bolsters will likely wear through quite quickly. So either get into the car very carefully trying not to rub the bolster too much, or patch it so it doesn't wear in the first place.
