how much you spend on a Spare Key?

Most aftermarket keys are brass and are much softer than the steel keys.
BMW does sell steel key blanks that you can have cut elsewhere; not many places will cut them though.

i lost the key for my dads e30 and had to get a locksmith come out open the car and cut an oem key cost me $120 for 2

not like we have a choice ... no one can cut the key the same way .. has to be ordered from germany and it comes with the buttons (unlock, lock, trunk).

I needed a spare just in case

11$ @ the dealer (Autohaus). Yea notices too my key its made out of brass. cheap shit am grabin a blank today.
