Vibrations at 110-120 km/hr

hey guys, i just got my new '89 325i. The car is the eurospec edition, and so far i absolutly love it. ive driven newer bmws and older bmws, and nothing has copared to this one yet.

i have noticed one problem, and i dont really know what it could be. I find that when i get to about 110 km/hr, the car starts to vibrate quite alot, and if i stay at this speed (between 110 and 120), the vibrations continue. If i go above 120 km/hr, the vibrations stop and the car smooths out again. it stays smooth for as fast as ive taken it so far, which is only 170 km/hr. any ideas guys??

my thoughts were that it might just be warped winter rims, or that maybe at this speed, the suspension has hit a critical frequency which is amplifing the vibrations.

One more thing...the side panel on the car is off (only half the sction) because it is missing one of the mounting peices. Does anyone know where i can get these peices or how much they cost? Thanks

I would start with checking if the wheels are out of balance or if there is a bent rim.

After that checks out, then have the suspension checked for any worm items.

sounds like bad tires.. are the tires new ? if so, they're probably out of balance.. start by checking the tire tread.

ya, i figured it was something to do with the tires. i have my winter tires on right now, which have really old, rusted rims on them. if the problem still exists when i get my summer tires on, i think i'll have the suspension looked at
