Good price. What tranny is on it Mike........ just a stock ? Even better score for someone with an older BMW 2002 looking for a motor upgrade.

I still think you should do the VAC 2.5 upgrade instead of the swap. S14 is special...............

hehehhheeee!! Well..... there's all ways options when you have cash in hand.. but after getting all juiced up over that 91 DTM Norway motor... mmmmm..... I just had to go for the power!

BTW - did you find that brake resevoir for the //M3 yet? I really need it for a client.... thx.

Mike, I went through all the parts I have an neither the master cylinder or the resevoir. If I do find it, I'll let you know. I'm now in re-assembly mode, so never know what may turn up.

The power things is understandable................... an S14 is expense to pull power from reliably when compared to those inline 6's.

The Euro Spec ones that came to Canada, e.g the 89 M3 sitting at VLS Motor's. ALL the Euro Specs came with the Dogleg, 1st gear down instead of up.

I think your talking about like the one in our CSL right Ant? its the super close ratio 'box.... it looks the same as a dogleg 'box but it has a tall-ass first gear and 2nd to 5th have very short drops in the gears but 5th is still 1:1

nono.... doglegs are where the first gear stars down, and second gear is up, and so on and so forth. Its a racing tranny because theres a lot of gear changes from 2nd to 3rd....... so its an easier change. The 190E 16v's came with doglegs.... and i guess thats the only car in NA that had them from the factory!

Bud, there is many versions of the Getrag 265. the one anthony is talking about is a $6k+ tranny(DTM), the regular dogleg 'box is only $500-1k

BTW many cars in NA have a first gear down shift pattern. Many old school Ferraris and old Porsche 911s have first down. Most old Italian cars too... Lambos etc..

Euro E30 M3's have the first gear down, but there the normal Getrag 265, the one im talking about is the DTM one, the E30 M3 will now top out @ 178 mph with it.
