The Renault Alliance
Ok guys, I have a chance to buy up myself a winter car, and I have NEVER heard of these before, someone down the street from me is selling their Renault Alliance, I have no idea what year it is, but it only has 32,000 original kms. I dunno his price either, he wasn't home so I left a message.. So now, should I bother looking into this car? Are they reliable? Or would I just be wasting my time. Help out guys.

Just one thing. Is almost imposible to find parts for this car. I bought one last year and no one have parts (needed to pass cert.) for it. I called couple junk yards and some of them don't even know what car I am talking about. I ended up junking it. They did paid me $25.00 for it. It was no big lost for me since I paid next to nothing for it. BTW. check under the car because they can rust like you will not believe.

Yeah, so I just had the car up on a hoist, and there was minimal rust on it, almost none, I'd get it oil sprayed, fix up a few things. But your saying parts are hard to get a hold of? I was talkin to my mechanic, and he was sayin that theres nothing outa the ordinary for these cars when it comes to there parts. He said it was in great shape, and for the price of the car, I couldn't go wrong......... Whadya think?
Oh, and I talked him down to $300 for it. So yeah, I dunno, if parts are hard to get, then I'll just say screw it.

i've been pondering getting a Chrysler K-Car (reliant etc)
because i see them on sale all the time for $400 hehe
i wouldn't care what happened to it for under $1000
they're mass produced as well so parts galore!

You looked at the car and it is in good shape, get it! Can't go wrong for $300.00. I wonder how come no one can get me parts last year? I did not know they use K-Car parts. Oh well.

So then I guess its still up in the air wether or not I'm able to get parts for it, I dunno wether my mechanic knew what he was talkin about, cause actually, I was talkin to his helper, and he's only my age (20). Soooo, are these parts mass produced?? What dealer, or garage that specalizes in brands would I take it to? Like a VW garage or what? Hmmmmmmmmmmm, damn european cars....... hehe

My first car was a Renault 5 with 61 000Km... I loved it but I have to say get something else! Its not worth bothering with those cars unless its some sentimental value!!! Get a Golf/ Jetta, parts are cheap and all over the place, its very good on gas and goes everywhere in winter!!!!
