General question, how long do OEM muffler last?

I have 126,000kms on mine, just wondering if anyones has gone around a certain km range?
Cheers
Jay
(Hope it goes soon, gives me an excuse to get one put on!)

i guess it depends, I took my mom's 525i to the dealership 4 years ago to get a new muffler put on, and now it needs to be replaced again (it's really bassy, it sets my car alarm off) The car has about 80,000km since the muffler had been replaced. And my mom doesn't really drive it hard (well, not that i know of)

Yeah, the E36 325's and the E34 5'ers are known to have their mufflers to sound louder, deeper, bassier compared to the E36 328i (which has a baffle plate that reduces the bassy noise at low rpm), so it's normal. I personally like it

However, I know, most likely, that the muffler on the 325 and 328 are different because I did a comparison with my buddies 325 and both sounded a tad bit different even when I disconnected the baffle plate.

Strangely, BMW had to replace my Cats around 70,000kms. I thought that was ackward!
