Fake ID Question
Right now me and some of my friends are 19 and some are still 18, but what they wanna do when we go to clubs is they get an ID that looks like them from someone and they use that. The drivers lisence is expired and thats why they have it from them. Its not scratched, just expired and looks similar to them. My question is that when they go to scan the lisence at a night club does that machine show the age and only the age to verify that it isnt scrached. Does it show the expiration date of the lisence, do they care about that?

depends, some places require a VALID piece of ID, not expired. But you could probably get away with it

for an ID to be valid, it can't be expired.
lcbo, beer store, and bouncers are all SUPPOSED to check the expiry date.
but alot of places won't check or care unless they want to be assholes, although they're covering their own asses.
i never encountered the swipes, but i'm sure it will show if it's expired or not.

Fake ID's are a thing of the past. Don't bother using it, clubs/bars are cracking down on minors in clubs, because its their ass on the line, and clubs getting closed down for seving minors isn't good for a clubs reputation. Expired licenses are one of the things their looking for. Once a ID card expires, it is no longer valid. They might not let you in, and possibly report it to the police. Not worth it in my opinion. Fake ID's were easier to use back in the day, before the swiping, but technology keeps advancing.
My advice, tell the youngins to wait to be legal.

For the clubs my sister walks exclusively with her expired license, and only once in many, many years has ever gotten in trouble with it.
Any large club has the police on payroll anyways, they won't get in trouble for little things like letting in minors that had "reasonable" identification.

bouncers/clubs wont go through the trouble of reporting your ID to the cops, it doesnt benefit them
as for your friends who are 18, if the bouncer says something, they're all bribable (sp?) $$$

like it was already said, unless they want to be real dicks about it, it won't be a problem. and in most places you can just wrap the id with a nice new 20, and they'll just let you walk right in.

i just want to make a comment about how Gianpaolo_E46 said they swipe cards.I know in toronto when they swipe your card it gives them the info about your age and so forth but it also makes a copy of all your info so they can use it for advertising needs.Thats why i never let them do it and speak to the manager if anything and tell them its invading your privacy for them to save info like that and maybe after they might not swipe it and your in with your fake id

are you sure about this? cause i've seen these devices for sale, and all they do is read and display. simple technology that reads the strip.

Stupid Canada.
Don't they realize that such strict drinking age policy is the reason that drugs become so popular. The public actually believes that enforcing the drinking age makes it safer for youth, they can't grasp that its actually much more dangerous.
Someone really****ed up on that one. At least we dont live in the states, I'd still have to wait another year before being legal there.
Europeans know how its done.
