indeed it is, and is considered one of the best piano makers in the world. (I have one too)

---------------

Why Purchase a Samick Piano?

Today's piano market may seem very confusing. Dealers all say they have the best piano on the market.

In building a quality musical instrument - the difference is in the attention to detail.

If you compare a Samick piano to other brands, look closely at the way the action is made. See how the soundboard ribs are notched into the soundboard liner. Notice that for strength, Samick utilizes both a full perimeter cast iron plate and four heavy duty laminated backposts. The soundboard is crafted of the same materials Samick uses to make soundboards for nearly one million acoustic guitars each year!

Samick pianos are crafted by some of the most skilled piano makers in the world and by the first musical instrument company to receive the coveted TUV ISO 9001 certification. Samick is one of the world's best selling pianos.

Samick commissioned the world renowned Klaus Fenner from Germany to design all of their new instruments. He incorporated a "German Scale Design" in all of his pianos. This design pulls the string to a higher tension than normal which tames the string divisions which appears to the human ear as good tone. Samick uses Roslau Piano Strings from Germany to produce this tone.

And an artical in the paper I found...
