Does OIL go bad?

What is the shelf-life of 2-stroke motor oil?

My local bike shop is selling 2T synthetic 2-stroke racing oil...imported from Britain...want to use some of that in my scooter...just that I noticed that the oil's colour has penetrated the plastic container, and the container itself is pretty dusty, so i'm sure it's been sitting there for quite some time.

I know gas goes bad...but does oil go bad?
