How did he do this?
The attached pic is of a E28 M5, but all his chrome around the doors and on the tail lights is gone. Is this just something that only the M5 had? or was this something he did himself? Personally I think it looks awesome.
What do you think?

All M5's came fully dechromed. It seperated them from the rest of the e28's, along with the front air dam/rear mtech 1 spoiler, sport seats, engine, etc, and sports suspension, that only could be had on the 535iS.
Now, as far as doing this yourself, its completely duable. I was in the process of completely doing it to my e28, before it got totalled. Some of the procedures required are:
Sanding thechrome with a light grid sand paper, primer( a couple of coats), and flat black/or glossy balck paint (fromCT), at which point you can either clear coat, or leave it as it is. This can be done ON ALL of the chrome, but another way u can dechrome the trim, is by using the black tape fouind also in CT.

I would love to do this to my E28 (and hope to do it) My 5 is in the process of being put back together. I just had a body and paint job done a few months ago and ive decided not to put the car on the road until the spring so i have some time to fool around with it.
I tried to search up this special tape but im useless with the intetnet. can someone explain to me why its special? and where is it available?
