I just got a ticket for running a red light

I just got a ticket for running a red light, I was making a left going to make the turn, I still had time at the speed that I was going (50km). but when I looked across, I saw an undercover. I know at that speed it's pretty quick but the car can make it easy. anyways I hesitated & I slowed down before. then I tkept on going... running the light. the cop was cool because I don't have my insurance paper (just change insurance they have not sent me my knew info)
he gave me a 70$ ticket for not having my papers. but he gave me 190$ ticker for running the light. I am curious to know how many points it is.
I don't care to pay the fine but I don't want any points. is there anyway of getting around this?
thanks

Ouch,

If I were you, I would not pay the fine- and try to fight it in court. If you pay the ticket, you automaticly agree with the charges. I'm not sure how many points you are going to lose, but either way, you will get hurt in the long run. - (if you pay the fine.)

GOOD LUCK.

Take it to court for sure. Nothing bad can come of it, and most likely they make you sign a deal so you don't have to see the judge which is a lowered fine and possibly no points or something. Theres also a very slim chance that you could get off totally if the cop doesn't show up. Take it to court, theres nothing to lose. Good luck.

you should care about the fine AND the points.

both will fuck you for up to 3 years after your court date.
take it to a lawyer... $$ now is better than $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$later

i got a ticket once for running an amber light. It's pretty much the same situation. I took it to court, pled NOT GUILTY and got off. However in my situation the cop was following me and looking to pull me over for any stupid reason. But my biggest arguement was that when i got into the middle of the intersection it had just turned amber and i waited a little bit JUSt ot make sure it was safe to go. The cop showed up at the court but said didnt have his evidence on him. So the judge let me off. I dont know if this helps. But definitely fight it and even if you have to lie a little bit to get off. Just tell yourself you DID NOT run the red light and it will show in your expressions when you explain yourself.
