Need help on 325iX exhaust!

My 89 325iX has some small holes forming in the catalytic converter and connection to the muffler, making nasty intermittent noises - mostly from the cat. Does anyone have a good used cat and/or muffler available? I see different part numbers for the cat on 325i vs 325iX - could a cat from a 325i work on the 325iX? The 325i cat seem to be easier to find used than the 325iX specific cat ... I've also gone to a few muffler shops and they would rather put new than fix. Does anyone know of a more flexible muffler place that WOULD try to fix this for me?
Any help would be appreciated.

Just put in a new high-flow cat. You have no guarantee when buying used that it works. I'm just waiting for an excuse to replace my exhaust (after winter).

Get a Magnaflow universal highflow (should be around $100) and a Brullen cat back if you want to upgrade your exhause (about $850 cash).

Where exactly can I get one of these? I would need a cat that mimics OEM and goes from the headers to the muffler intake. Thanks.
