Modifying Angel Eyes - Opinions??
If you recall I got ticketed a few months back for having red angel eyes... (I really oughta pay that..) the problem with my existing angel eye design is heat. I'm using super bright bulbs in an vented housing to light up the angel eyes. I have a color filter which is interchangable... (literally a few seconds to change colors of the angel eyes... slide the old color out, and a new one in). I've learned that my hours of creating angel eyes which change color easily really doens't make much difference.. since I havent' changed from Red in over 2 years.
My solution?
LED's. Now wait. I know what you're going to say... LED Angel Eyes (first generation) never were very bright, and they blew in a year or so. While this is true... I figure multiple LED's per set of angel eyes should do the trick... how many is multiple? How about 18 10,000mcd LED's per headlight. (in theory should be 4x brighter than traditional LED angel eyes).
I have yet to machine the lightboxes which will house these... but I think it should do a suitable job. I think I can fit 20 LED's in there.. but I need to buy more and they take a few days to get shipped from my online source.
Now the question is... what color should I go with?
COOL WHITE
GREEN
AMBER
RED (ILLEGAL)
BLUE (ILLEGAL)

keep in mind.. this is how the light source looks... I have yet to try them out on the angel eyes themselves. To see how red/blue/cyan looks, check my signature out.

Honestly, any colour besides white, looks tacky.

yeah the stock orange I find looks really weak on a blacked out car... compared to hyper white... probably because my turn signals, fogs, etc. are all HID colored already...

the reason i like the stock orange, is cuz it contrasts well against the bluish HID's.
